Related to last week’s post on taking time to learn, it’s important to get out of your comfort zone and do new things once in a while.  My “new thing” for the next few months will be teaching an entrepreneurship class at the University of Oregon.  The ups and downs so far:

Ups

  • Meeting lots of excited, passionate people who are eager to learn and have the drive to turn their energy into real ventures
  • Discussing all sorts of interesting entrepreneurial topics (the teacher can also be the student here)
  • Brushing up on my public speaking skills (it’s been a while since I had my daughter last July)
  • Getting out of the house more often rather than working from a computer (also related to having a daughter)
Downs
  • General nervousness about doing something I’ve never done before
Hmm…looking at it, it’s not a bad trade-off at all.
